Norway Officially Bans Fur Farming

Norway has officially ended fur farming, marking a major step in animal welfare. The ban, passed in 2019, required all farms to close by 2025, but operations shut down ahead of schedule, with the last mink leaving in early 2023.

This decision aligns Norway with countries like the UK and the Netherlands, which have also banned fur farming. Advocacy groups, particularly NOAH, played a key role in shifting public opinion and pushing for legislative action.

Norway is now considering banning fur imports to prevent outsourcing animal cruelty. This milestone highlights a growing global movement against using animals for fashion.
